Weddle is not a physical specimen,... but to me he has Patriot written all over him. He was extremely productive at Utah. He's a fundamentally sound, disciplined, hard worker with great range,... and is always 'around the ball'.
He's not flashy,.. but he's a playmaker. The knock on him was his speed (or lack thereof) but he turned in a 4.4 at the combine.
You could go with a 'physical' stud like Sabby Piscitelli,.....but Weddle just seems like a better fit. Simply put,....the kid is a 'Football player' IMO.
Harrison is definitely on the downside - its hard to see him playing past this year - thats if he lasts as long as that.
I like what you say about Weddle, but I just don't think he needs to be picked up in the 1st round - LaRon Landy would be a nice pick (in a possible trade).
Safety has been an important position for us, if we could pick up someone with his tangibles and with a year to learn from Rodney - well, its a nice thought.
They've been great for a while now, three Super Bowls' worth of great. But only this season have the New England Patriots become The Show, the must-see team of stars, pretty boys and reformed bad boys. Suddenly, the Patriots are not simply great; they're compelling, fascinating, appearing to be almighty and a touch lawless.
The Patriots didn't bother with swagger to start this NFL season; they went straight to defiant. Either you're one of them or you're about to get crushed.
