David Ball: WR, New Hampshire (1-AA)
I just read an article about him on yahoo sports.Says if he doesn't run a 4.5 or faster in the 40-yard dash,he'll be a late 2nd day pick or possibly even a free agent.
He broke Jerry Rice's NCAA record for TD catches (58) and is second to Rice in recieving yards. He's approximatly 6'2" tall and weighs 195 lbs.
It appears his "slow" time (4.65 fastest) in the 40 is due to a injured quad, which he pulled in the East-West Shrine Game and he says is still sore. His first 20 yards projects a 4.4 time, but the enxt 20 yards are just "average".He believes once the quad is healed he can run 4.5 seconds or lower.
I say we should draft him.I don't see WR as a true "need" position for this team, but if healthy he can run a 4.4 40-yard dash...he could be a very good player. He won't cost much to sign being a second-day pick and I hear he has quite a work ethic.
Congrats to the 2009 Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins
