Didn't we go two games in 2005 without punting? Or only punted once in a two-game span?
While I believe in thanking someone for their services rendered -- and he did a good job, really, until last season -- I also agree that it was time. He was a great asset for the team and I wish we had kept him until TC, if only to help Sepulveda develop at a level where the opponent gets into your face a lot quicker.
