Default Peanut Butter Bars

I made these today to take to work......and brought the pan home empty.

Peanut Butter Bars
1/2 cup Butter or Margarine, softened
1/2 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Packed Brown Sugar
1/2 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
1 Egg, Beaten
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 cup All-Purpose Flour
1/2 cup Quick-Cooking Oats
1 tsp Baking Soda
1/4 tsp Salt
1 cup (6 oz) Semisweet or Milk Chocolate Chips
1 cup Confectioners Sugar
1/4 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
1/4 cup Milk

1 In a mixing bowl, cream butter, sugars and peanut butter.
2 Add egg and vanilla; mix well.
3 Combine flour, oats, baking soda and salt; stir into creamed mixture.
4 Spread into a greased 13x9-inch baking pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Bake at 350? for 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned. Middle should be slightly jiggly when removed from oven. Do not over bake.
5 Combine icing ingredients; pour over bars while still hot.

Yield: 3-4 dozen

Cooking Tips
Bars will cut easier if refrigerated for several hours.
Recipe may be doubled and baked in a 15x10 sheet cake pan or jelly roll pan.
"We're not going to turn our backs on him," Ward said. "We're going to treat him like our brother. We're going to accept him back and be very supportive of him and help him get through this. In this locker room, he's still our quarterback."
