It was pretty obvious that Carson wasn't 100% especially near the beginning of the season. The injury he sustained is supposed to take about 1 to 1 and a half years to fully recover from. So he should just now be reaching 100% physically.

With that being said, the Bengals defense (especially the pass defense) was the reason Cincinnati didn't make the playoffs, not Carson Palmer.

As far as Marvin Lewis being on the hot seat...if you've been coaching an NFL team for more than a year and haven't reached the super bowl, you're probably already on the hot seat.
