Default Patriots down poor J.E.T.S.

Well, hats to the Patriots for a quite awesome display on offense and ST's.

Brady had all the time in the world to pass because the Patriots O-Line was utterly dominant - 3 TD's 0 INT's.

Randy Moss silenced the detractors (for the week at least) by having the 3rd best game of his carer in terms of yardage - just wait til he hits his stride.

Sammy Morris looked like an excellent option as Dillons replacement - made some hard yards up the middle.

Wes welker lived up to his reputation (apartt from one drive killing drop on 3rd down) with 6 catches for 61 yards and a TD,

Ellis Hobbs breaks the NFL record for longest kickoff run back with a 108 yard scorcher.

The Patriots D shut down hyped offseason acquisition Thomas Jones to the tune of 42 yards at a lowly 3ypc.

The Jets threw everything they had at the Patriots - inclding some very inventive offensive play calling L.Coles out of the backfield on the swing pass was a great call.

So lets not 'crown their ass' just yet - but this was a nice start.

Bring on San Diego.

They've been great for a while now, three Super Bowls' worth of great. But only this season have the New England Patriots become The Show, the must-see team of stars, pretty boys and reformed bad boys. Suddenly, the Patriots are not simply great; they're compelling, fascinating, appearing to be almighty and a touch lawless.
The Patriots didn't bother with swagger to start this NFL season; they went straight to defiant. Either you're one of them or you're about to get crushed.
