I really am grateful for your time and effort!
There is quite a difference between recruitment in the NFL and soccer here in the UK.
The vast majority of soccer players become professionals either by joining clubs as schoolboys and play in the youth teams or academies and gradually break into the senior team.
Some play in lower league teams and if they show potential are signed up by the bigger clubs.
It`s not uncommon for a team to sign up kids as young as 6,7or 8 if they show exceptional potential to ensure they get first call if the boy is able to fullfill that promise.
David Beckham for example joined Man Utd when he was just 14 and made his debut for them when he was 17.
