Depends on how you define educated. I certainly graduated from a public school. However, the term "Educated" can have different meaning. The HS I went to combined their History and English classes, so that what you were learning in History involved what you were writing about in English. My Junior year, there was a lot of discussion over religion...but the school protocol was to exclude Christianity. The teacher was wrote up because (despite her belief as a Taoist) she taught some of the tenets of Christianity (as a basis of education and to show the similarities and differences between every major religion.)
How can anybody claim to be "educated in a public school" when knowledge is restricted from being learned?
