You are right as far as I know. Less sunshine equals more suicide for folks with true depression. Being the norhternmost major city in the lower 48, we have comparatively shorter days in the winter. U of Washington actually identified Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).
Alaska has the worst suicide rates cuz of their winters.
