PITTSBURGH, PA —
It was over when...
When Dennis Dixon threw an interception in overtime in his own 20 yard line, the Bengals nailed the field goal and ended Pittsburgh's 5 game win streak.
Cedric Benson carried the ball 24 times for 96 yards as he was key in the Bengals victory... Leon Hall had 3 tackles and 2 picks, one which was returned for a touchdown... Nedu Ndukwe had 8 tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble and the crutial interception in overtime that ended the game.
The Game started out with a 30 yard pass to Mike Wallace, but in snowy conditions no team could get the chain moving, but eventually the Steelers made two field goals to put the up 6-0 by Half Time, this included an advantage of 197 yards to 71 yards.
By second half the Bengals got their game together and midway through whilst Ben Roethlisberger got rocked he threw the ball that landed into he hands of Leon Hall who returned it 23 yards for a touchdown. The Steelers reattempted to get going again but Mike Wallace fumbled that led to a 3 and out, but again Ben Roethlisberger threw another interception.
Ben Roethlisberger left the game again only to watch Dennis Dixon get sacked in his own endzone to put the score to 6-9.
With just 1:50 remaining Dennis Dixon hooked up to Santonio Holmes for a 74 yard touchdown pass to put them up 12-9 but missed the extra point.
With fluke the Bengals bounced back and got back into field goal range with a phenominal drive by Benson putting the scores 12-12 with just 6 seconds left.
Midway through overtime Dennis Dixon threw an interception to Nedu Ndukwe who returned it 13 yards putting them into field goal range, where they kicked the field goal ending the game in overtime 12-15.
William Gay got his sixth interception of the season. Rookie Defensive Back Bryan Evans returns from his partially torn MCL and will replace Ike Taylor as the starter.
It was voted the Best Sunday Night game since Pittsburgh vs Baltimore.
Cedric Benson almost broke the 100 yard barrier that is hard to brake against a valiant Steelers defence.
