PITTSBURGH, PA —
It was over when...
Leading by just a touchdown with 10 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter Santonio Holmes hooked up with Ben Roethlisberger for a 62 yard reception.
With the game ultimatley decided on field position The Pittsburgh Steelers Special Teams came through Daniel Sepulveda punted 5 times for an average of 48.1 and had 4 punts fielded inside the oppositions 20 yard line. He had a season long 56 yard punt.
The Steelers halted their 4 game losing streak against the Browns and beat them for the first time since week 17 of the 2008 NFL Season, nearly 3 years.
In what was pretty much a defensive slugfest, with media recently critisizing James Farrior for returning, he showed no old age as he recorded 10 tackles and a sack.
In what might be play of the season with just shortly 2 minutes left in the second quarter Troy Polamalu intercepted Tim Tebow's pass intended for Donte Stallworth, weaved in and out of helpless offensive lineman and then beat out the wide reciever and took it 82 yards.
The Steelers held the Browns to just 194 yards but the Steelers themselves were held to 232 yards. With both Tom Moore and Dick Lebeau retiring after the Super Bowl shoes were needed to be field Jerry Gray so far has done a good job but the Offensive Co-Ordinator did look lost as his recievers didn't get many receptions.
The Steelers offensive line looked good as they only gave up 1 sack and that was when Ben Roethlisberger was being pursued by a defensive back.
In what could be bad news Rookie Starting Corner Janoris Jenkins suffered a stress foot fracture which will keep him out for up to 3 weeks.
Troy Polamalu recorded the first touchdown of the 2011 NFL Season. A 82 yard return.
