Re: Potential New Owners or Nutting going to tell them to go away to?
If Nutting really cared about anything other than his wallet, he'd have taken Mario and Burkle's offer. I'm sure it was pretty substantial too - I know if I owned a $288 million team and someone offered me $400 million or $500 million, I'd take the money and run without a moment's hesitation. But Nutting won't give up his cash cow for anything. The only thing that might get his attention is a 75% empty stadium each and every game, including Opening Day.
If Mario and Burkle owned the Pirates, they'd be playoff contenders within 2 years, guaranteed. They would spend the money to make it happen, because they wouldn't accept anything less.
