Default Re: Supa Steeler Journal

Last Time These Teams Met:In the 2009 AFC Divisional Playoff Rounds, the would be Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the San Diego Chargers 24-35 on their way to a sixth Lombardi Trophy.

Series Lead:The Pittsburgh Steelers lead the overall series against the San Diego Chargers 20-6 Including Playoffs.

Prediction:Pittsburgh Steelers 25-17 San Diego Chargers.

Injury Report:
SD Shaun Philips (Broken Tailbone, 8 Weeks)

When the San Diego Chargers fly to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers for the third consecutive time in 4 Football Months they will have revenge straight on their minds as they try to end the Pittsburgh Steelers streak of winning five straight NBC Sunday Night winning games, the last game they lost on Sunday Night was an AFC West Opponent, the Chargers will be looking to break that streak in the same fashion of being a West opponent again.

"That lost really hurt us, we were rolling with alot of momentum into Pittsburgh after blowing out Denver and beating Indianapolis, we nearly beat them during the regular season as well" explained Philip Rivers, it was a tough pill for him to swallow as he still has not taken his team to the promised land, the only last 2004 first round Quarterback to do so (Only includes top 10).

The Steelers will be looking to avoid a loss a win here will give them a 3-1 record and games against Detroit and Cleveland will give them a 5-1 record a game before the bye, providing lots of momentum heading into the second half of the season with games against the Browns, Chiefs, Raiders and Dolphins. A win tonight against an AFC Powerhouse Oppponent will send them top of the AFC provinding an Indianapolis and Denver loss.

The Steelers will look to rule this game with an iron grip. Don't be surprised to see Rashard Mendenhall burst out during the second quarter just as Willie Parker did a week back.
