Great day yesterday for the USA..........moments of courage for the women skiers with Lindsey Vonn winning gold and amazing athletic skill on the halfpipe. Shaun White easily won gold with his first run and topped his score victory lap. What's even more amazing is the fact that he had two open heart surgeries at the ripe old age of one for a heart defect.

Yes - it was quite a day for our American athletes!
Shaun White is just amazing and I was delighted that Lindsey Vonn and Julie Mansuco finished 1-2 in the ladies downhill on such a treacherous mountain.
I felt so bad for the women who crashed towards the end of the slope - it's a miracle they were able to get up.
Speed skater Shani Davis also took gold in the 1,000m with Shaun Henrick getting the bronze.
Lots of hockey and curling today and the Men's Free Style figure skating is on tonight, which I'll have my eyes glued to.
