Thomas Steals another win

After Earl Thomas's late interception touchdown, Santonio wrapped up the game by picking up a third down

It was over when...
With 4:08 remaining in the 4th Quarter and on third down on Baltimore's 7 yard line Joe Flacco threw a interception to Rookie Cornerback Earl Thomas who took it back 25 yards for a Touchdown. ... The Ravens did go back down the field and score a touchdown but instead of deciding to try an onfield kick they elected to boot it back to Dexter McCluster and Santonio Holmes picked up a first down on the ensuing drive to run out the clock.

Game Ball
Ben Roethlisberger threw an interception on the first play of the game in Baltimore's endzone after a kickoff recovery but went onto throw for 267 yards and complete 28 of 38 passes for 2 touchdowns and 1 interception.

Key Stat
The Steelers kept their drives going by completing 8 of 13 third downs. Each team fumbled on a kickoff return, one at the start of the game and one at the end of the half. Earl Thomas leads all Rookies with 2 interceptions and 2 defensive touchdowns. When he has an interception the Steelers are 2-0.

Earl Thomas recorded 5 tackles and a defensive touchdown. James Farrior had 10 tackles in the second half and Derrick Doggett recovered a fumble made by Daniel Sepulveda on the starting kickoff.

PITTSBURGH -- Before the game in the Baltimore Ravens Lockeroom the whole Steelers roster were listening to Bob Dylans "These times are a changin' song on the radio.

It was fit for the occasion as the Steelers made a statement by beating the defending AFC North Champions and claiming they are back to claim what was theres during (01,02,04,07,08).

The Steelers came out ready whilst the Ravens were still asleep for the better part of 22 minutes.

"On Special Teams we knew we had to make a play, I'm glad we did" Said Doggett after the win.

The Steelers did just that but Ben Roethlisberger threw an interception on the next play and already the fiercest rivalry in the NFL had two turnovers.

There were more turnovers as Stefan Logan fumbled on a Kick Return with the ties scored at 10-10 with just 2 minutest left. Flacco went downfield and put the Ravens ahead 16-10. Ben Roethlisberger brought his team back quickly to turn the deficit into 3 points as the half ended.

The game was an interesting one. Out of the 8 touchdowns, 3 were by Rookies and the last was by a Rookie which clinched the game.

"Im told yall at the start of the season" said Thomas "I'm out here to play some ball and make plays to get us to the post season"

That is just what he is doing.

The Steelers fixed up their apparant Offensive problems and put 21 points up on the board during the second half.

"I thought we played a good all around game, there were mistakes we can get better and we will" said Coach Tomlin in the post game conference.

The Steelers are now 2nd in the division behind the 3-0 Cincinnati Bengals.

Notes:Pittsburgh Steelers Wide Reciever Santonio Holmes now has 8 consecutive touchdowns in 8 games against the Ravens. ... In six games (inc post season) against the Pittsburgh Steelers Baltimore Ravens Quarterback Joe Flacco has thrown nine touchdowns (1.5 per game) and seven interceptions (1.16 per game).
