Default Re: Gil Brandt- The 'Hot 100' prospects for the 2010 draft

food for thought... gil just answered this question for me in his chat-

better for the steelers... cb wilson or safety thomas?

Gil Brandt, NFL.com
Tony, I think Earl Thomas is the better pick. Thomas is faster, and may also be able to play corner. He pulled a hamstring at his workout last week and wasn't able to do all the drills, but I do think he's the better player. Of course, Kyle Wilson is a first-round talent.

If you chck out my "Hot 100" on NFL.com, I've got Thomas in the 11-20 level, and Wilson in the 21-30 level.

is mid second round too early to take brandon spikes?

Gil Brandt, NFL.com
Spikes is a really good football player but he didn't run real fast. He's an inside linebacker who has to go to a 4-3 team and might not be an every-down player. So that might be too high. I can see him going in the third round and being a solid player against the run. But he'll come out on passing downs.
