I'm the same way with TVs though...we got this one (the big one for the living room) second hand from a friend who bought a flat screen. I still have a couple smaller ones that I've had since early high school that still work fine. Keep those in the bedrooms.
It's been so long since I've bought a TV that I was actually amazed that you can't get anything other than flat screens from stores like Wal-Mart and Best Buy. I was looking for a little TV that had a VCR and DVD player built in for my daughters room and couldn't find anything anywhere.
Makes me feel old lol.

hey i worked for my TV's ... the 36 inch i got from a guy who i refinished some hardwood floors for . i seen it sitting on a floor in a room and i said , damn thats a big TV... he said "wanna buy it" ? 350 its yours , only 2 years old. so i proposed doing a hallway for the tv. he jumped on it.... i would have only charged him 225 to do the hallway ...
then i did some remodling for a bar / restuarant , they had me take down 2 , 26 inch crt's , because they were getting new flat screens , and i asked what they were gonna do with em ... he said try to sell em probably... how much ? he wanted 250 for both ... so i tiled a bathroom floor them ... which i probably woulda only charged them about 175 to do....
i like the barter system...i figure i got more time than money ....
