The Dark Knight Rises' Strays From NYC to Pittsburgh
The third Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises will be shot in the city home to Superbowl winners the Pittsburgh Steelers. The final movie will be shot this summer, with the cast and crew setting up in the Pennsylvania city.
Famous director Christopher Nolan found the setting perfect for the action film starring Academy Award winner Christian Bale.
The city's unique architecture and downtown urban streets were a perfect fit for the fast-paced plot. In a press release statement, Mayor Luke Ravenstahl said, “We are thrilled to be welcoming the Batman film to Pittsburgh, and eager for the economic impact that our city will experience."
Nolan had visited Pittsburgh several times while scouting cities to film in, and finally confirmed the swirling rumors. The mega franchise will bring excitement and financial exuberance to the metropolitan area; only further projecting Pittsburgh on the map as one of the top U.S cities.
