Default Re: The OL thread...

guys lets get back on topic here... I can't believe more steelers fans aren't more worried about the o line this year. I mean, have you guys even thought about who will be starting for us on the o line?

"At this point, Colon, who sat out last year with an Achilles' tendon tear; and Scott, who replaced Starks for the second half of last season at left tackle after he was lost to a neck injury; will be the starting tackles.

Because NFL rules don't permit free agents to practice with their respective teams until Aug. 4, the Steelers opened their first official practice with Kyle Jolly and Chris Scott at left and right tackle, respectively. Colon and Jonathan Scott were unrestricted free agents.

Jolly was on the Steelers' practice squad while Chris Scott was a fifth-round draft pick last year. Neither has seen action in an NFL game, but they will continue to be there, at least until Colon and Jonathan Scott return to practice.

With left guard Chris Kemoeatu on the physically unable to perform list, center Maurkice Pouncey and right guard Ramon Foster were the only regulars on the starting offensive line Friday. Rookie Keith Williams, a sixth-round draft pick, lined up at left guard in place of Kemoeatu.

Throw in that restricted free agents Doug Legursky and Tony Hills also are unable to practice until Aug. 4 after signing their tender sheets and the Steelers had an awfully young offensive line practicing Friday.

In fact, Steelers lined up for their first practice with five rookie linemen and just one player - Foster - who has been in the NFL for more than one season."
