APRIL 1998: Drafted in the third round by the Steelers out of the University of Georgia, the 92nd pick overall.

SEPT. 6, 1998: Had first career reception vs. Baltimore Ravens, a 12-yard pass from Kordell Stewart.

SEPT. 12, 1999: Scored first career TD on 1-yard pass from Mike Tomczak at Cleveland. Also first career start at wide receiver.

NOV. 18, 2001: Recorded first 100-yard receiving game vs. Jacksonville, finishing with 112 yards and one touchdown.

JAN. 6, 2002: With 32 yards vs. Cleveland in final regular-season game, broke 1,000 yards receiving for first time in his career. Finished with 1,003 yards, joining teammate Plaxico Burress, who also had 1,000-plus yards receiving, the first two to do so in Steelers history.

JAN. 20, 2002: In first career playoff game, caught three passes for 37 yards in AFC divisional match vs. Baltimore.

JAN. 27, 2002: In first career AFC championship game, caught six passes for 64 yards in loss to New England. Selected to his first Pro Bowl.

2002 SEASON: Broke his team record with 112 receptions and finished 4 yards ahead of teammate Plaxico Burress with 1,329 receiving yards. Ward's 12 TDs tied Louis Lipps' and Buddy Dial's team record and Ward became the first non-kicker to lead the Steelers in scoring. Selected to second consecutive Pro Bowl.

2003 SEASON: Became the first player in Steelers history to surpass 1,000 receiving yards three years in a row (1,163). Surpassed Lynn Swann's 336 career receptions for third place on the team's all-time receiving list in Sept. 7 game at Baltimore. Caught then-career high 13 passes for 149 yards Nov. 30 vs. Cincinnati. Became only the fifth receiver in Steelers history to surpass 5,000 receiving yards with 94 yards Dec. 21 vs. San Diego. Selected to third consecutive Pro Bowl.

2004 SEASON: Led team for the fifth consecutive season (tied in 1999) with 80 catches for 1,004 yards, his fourth 1,000-yard season in a row. Had back-to-back 100-yard receiving games in playoffs. Scored first rushing TD of his career Nov. 7 vs. Philadelphia on a 16-yard run, and passed Louis Lipps for fourth place on the Steelers' all-time TD list (40). With reception Dec. 5 at Jacksonville, extended his consecutive games with a catch to 100. With 134 yards receiving Dec. 18 vs. the New York Giants, became third Steelers receiver to surpass 6,000 yards. With nine catches in same game, he reached 500 for his career, becoming only the second Steelers receiver to do so.

2005 SEASON: Started and caught pass in team record 106th game Sept. 18 at Houston. Missed first game of his career with hamstring injury Oct. 16 vs. Jacksonville, snapping consecutive games played streak at 116 and games started streak at 83. Became team's all-time leading receiver with 15-yard catch Nov. 13 vs. Cleveland, passing John Stallworth's mark of 537. Scored 50th career TD Dec. 4 vs. Cincinnati with 6-yard reception. Surpassed Lynn Swann for second place in team TD catches. Second receiver in team history to pass 7,000-yard mark.

FEB. 5 , 2006: Was named Super Bowl XL MVP in 21-10 victory against Seattle in Detroit. Caught five passes for 123 yards and caught a 43-yard TD pass from WR Antwaan Randle-El.

2006 SEASON: On Oct. 22 in his hometown of Atlanta in 41-38 overtime loss to the Falcons, set a career high in yards with 171 and TDs in a game with three. His eight catches in game gave him 600 for his career. Tied Louis Lipps for second in team history with his 16th career 100-yard game Nov. 5 vs. Denver. Broke 8,000 yards receiving Dec. 31 vs. Cincinnati, joining John Stallworth as the only Steelers receivers to break that barrier.

2007 SEASON: Ward became the team's all-time leader in TDs and receiving yards. Scored two TDs Dec. 2 vs. Cincinnati to pass John Stallworth (63) as the team's all-time receiving TDs leader. On Dec. 20 at St. Louis, finished with 59 yards receiving, passing Stallworth for the team record in receiving yards with 8,737.

2008 SEASON: Finished the year with 1,043 yards, his fifth 1,000-yard receiving season in his career and first since 2004. Surpassed 9,000 career receiving yards with 90-yard day Oct. 5 at Jacksonville. His 112 receiving yards Nov. 9 vs. Indianapolis gave him 17 career 100-yard games and moved him into second place all time for the Steelers. With 107 receiving yards Dec. 14 at Baltimore, became the first Steelers WR to gain more than 10,000 career total yards from scrimmage. Last of six catches Dec. 28 vs. Cleveland gave him 800 for his career. In AFC divisional playoff game Jan. 11, 2009, vs. San Diego, became first receiver in Steelers history to post at least 70 catches in the postseason (71).

FEB. 1, 2009: Ward won his second championship ring when the Steelers defeated Arizona, 27-23, in Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa, Fla. Had two catches for 43 yards in the game.

2009 SEASON: Named the Steelers Ed Block Courage Award winner when he caught 95 passes for 1,167 yards. Became the first player in team history to reach 10,000 receiving yards when he caught four passes for 82 yards Sept. 27 at Cincinnati. Became only fifth player in NFL history to gain 10,000 receiving yards with one team. With 126 receiving yards Dec. 20 vs. Green Bay, passed 1,000 yards for sixth season, the most in team history. In season finale at Miami, caught pass in 178th consecutive game to move past Steve Largent into fifth place on the all-time NFL list.

2010 SEASON: Became first Steelers player to surpass 11,000 receiving yards with 108 yards Sept. 12 vs. Atlanta. Also caught his 900th career pass in same game and broke team record held by John Stallworth with his 26th 100-yard game. On Oct. 17 vs. Cleveland, passed Jerome Bettis for second place on the team with 81 TDs (80 receiving, 1 rushing), 19 behind all-time leader Franco Harris. Had streak of 186 games with at least one reception broken Nov. 14 vs. New England when he left game in first half with a concussion. Streak began Nov. 9, 1998, vs. Green Bay, the third-longest streak in NFL history. Played in 200th career game Dec. 19 vs. the New York Jets.

FEB. 6, 2011: In 31-25 loss to Green Bay in Super Bowl XLV in Dallas, caught seven passes for 78 yards and an 8-yard TD pass from Ben Roethlisberger and tied John Stallworth's team record of 17 consecutive postseason games with at least one catch.

2011 SEASON: In Dec. 4 victory vs. Cincinnati, became the 19th player in league history to surpass 12,000 receiving yards. Reached another milestone Jan. 1, 2012, with his 1,000th reception, becoming the eighth player in NFL history to reach 1,000 catches. Released by the Steelers on Feb. 29, 2012.
