I was hoping for Wes last season. I'm really hoping this kid does something with himself...... For us.

Depending on what they do in the draft, he should have a reasonable chance to make the roster, I suppose. Even assuming the return of Wallace and Cotchery, that still leaves them with only 4 receivers. It's likely that they'll draft one. However, with Mendenhall's injury and Saunders' suspension, assuming he's not cut, the team is likely to carry either an extra back or TE and only 5 WRs.

What kind of vertical does Lyons have? I'm dreaming of a redzone Target

I liked Wes Lyons last year and maybe he will prove to be a good possession receiver but two things stood out when checking up on him and explains why he wasn't drafted. He had a 4.67 40 time and only had 42 career receptions. That is really slow. Donta Hightower who weighs close to 270 ran a 4.68 40. Lyons has his work cut out for him. Mohamed Sanu who is projected in the 2nd round ran a 4.67 so speed isn't everything.

Where did you read that about Sanu? I read that he ran a 4.41. I live in NJ, so I watched Sanu in college. He's a great player that I wouldn't mind seeing on the Steelers, but only if he's the absolute BPA in the second round if was even on the board.

Actually just the other day Sanu did improve his 40 time to 4.41. I was going by his combine number. He should be gone early 2nd.
