Haven't seen too many people say this or agree with me when I have but I want to see a lot more of Clay. We haven't seen enough of him to form an opinion, but with that size he could be the next Bettis.

The running game is more about the commitment to it and the line in front of the back. We were as good or better at running the ball with undrafted Willie Parker as we were with 1st rounder Mendenhall. Not a knock on Mendy, it's just not the focus of this team anymore.
I agree. Its why I cant understand the mocks that have us taking a RB in the 2nd round. We have what we need and most teams have a RB by committee system anyways that we should also use.

I really liked him as a college freshman and soph, but he doesnt have the feet that Bettis did. Clay is a downhill runner that reads his blocks and hits the hole. He is kind of Redman with less wiggle.

I like Clay, but really he is the same kind of back as Redman and Dwyer.......but dare I say runs tougher than Dwyer.

I don't think we've seen enough of any of our young backs, excluding Redman, to form an opinion. I'm very excited about Baron Batch.

I saw enough Georgia tech and Wisconsin games to have a decent understanding of what Dwyer and Clay can do. I didn't see as much of Batch, but what I can remember is he runs strong for a small guy and finishes his runs well weth good forward lean.

Dwyer runs softer than Batch did.
