interesting to get perspective of 1 of our former coaches. gives insight of how things might have went down inside of the war room-
Scouting the Draft: Offensive Tackles http://thesidelineview.com/columns/d...ensive-tackles By Larry Zierlein April 16, 2012 [Editor's Note: Author Larry Zierlein was a college and NFL offensive line coach for 32 years. His career is highlighted by a Super Bowl win in 2008 with the Pittsburgh Steelers under Mike Tomlin. We asked Coach Zierlein to take a look at several offensive line prospects from this year's draft and share with us what he saw. He watched multiple cut-ups for each prospect listed, but wants to remind the reader that for a final evaluation, it takes even more film work, interviewing the player to get a feel for his character, checking on the player's background and working linemen out whenever possible. Coach Zierlein gave us the order that he would rank each of the tackles and guards based on what he saw from each prospect. The only player's he evaluated are the ones listed. Coach Zierlein is retired and working Under Armour's "Football University" camps along with other former NFL coaches. This was also his first year working out offensive line draft prospects in preparation for the Senior Bowl and Combine. If you are an agent interested in contacting Coach Zierlein for work with future clients, please email us and we'll pass the info along to him.

Martin, Massie, Schwartz are guys that I would like to see in B&G. Nice breakdowns and not much that I would disagree with, other than the fact that I think Zebrie Sanders has pushed himself further down than a 2nd round pick as Larry Z would suggest.
I think of Mitchell Schwartz as a younger version of Jon Runyan, but not as dirty.

He is saying what I have said all along about Cordy Glenn. Waist bender, might not get pad level to be a really great guard and might be best at RT.

I'm calling BS on this one. Makes sense, but he included Kalil for the Tackles, and he is also clearly #1 there.

OK... whatever.it makes SO MUCH more sense that he has never heard of decastro or konz even though he's a beat writer in houston with his own radio show and website devoted to covering the nfl and the draft. nevermind that he has his foot in the door with his father who was an actual nfl coach who broke down film and taught o-line for a living. in his ranking of the top 150 players in this years draft, he has decastro as the #7 prospect and konz #24, so im guessing he knows who they are. ![]() do you have a published top 150 ranking or even a collection of game film cut ups of 10 or so prospects you could send off to a former pro for insight and analysis? ![]() people trip me out... defying all logic just to be contrarian or hypercritical. im calling bs as well.
