Default Terrell Suggs likely out for season

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/78...es-sources-say

Says Suggs tore his ACL during a run and is likely out for the entire 2012 season. This should be a huge blow to the ratbirds defense

ACL and achilles are not same thing.

Suggs has been the most dominant player on that Ravens defense against us. Big loss for Ravens. Wish him well.

I still call this the Marino injury.

Never good to hear about an injury to a player, but it means the new Steelers linemen won't face such a baptism of fire vs the Ravens.

Default Suggs tears achillies

Guess he'll be out for at least 3/4 of the season.

Suggs claims it is a partial tear and that he plans to be back mid-season

The injury occurred in Arizona while Suggs was practicing for an upcoming conditioning test, he said Thursday in a text message.

Suggs initially thought it was a sprain but a doctor determined that it was a partial tear, he said....

Suggs, the AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2011, is expected to have surgery as soon as next week. A torn Achilles tendon usually requires a lengthy rehabilitation program, but Suggs has no intention of sitting out the year.

Asked if he will play in 2012, he responded, ""Absolutely," and projected his return to occur in late October or November.

I hate when our opponents lose players. Then we never hear the end of the excuses after we beat them. Would have been nice to watch our new O-line hand him a 0-0-0 stat line.

Suggs partially tore his Achilles tendon, not his ACL. Suggs also believes he will be back by the middle of the season, which seems optimistic to me.

I do agree with you that this will be a huge blow for the Ratbirds defense as he always plays very well against us. Candidates to take over Suggs' spot are Paul Kruger, Sergio Kindle and Michael McAdoo and those guys have nowhere near the impact on a game that Suggs has.
