Renegade t shirt #'s 33-78

My wife got me a Steelers Renegade t shirt and I was wondering what the #'s 33 and 78 stand for. I live out here in Oregon and have been a Steeler fan for a long time. But never having been to a game I don't always no whats happening during timeouts or TV commercials. Same as being at any other game I guess.

The 78 is for 1978 which is the year the song was on the Pieces of eight album.I think the 33 for the record it self,not a 45 record

Renegade (a pump-up song sung by the band STYX) is basically our rally song since 2002. When Renegade plays, it's usually to row up the crowd to epic proportions for the defense, mainly on a big 3rd down play that is pivotal towards the outcome of the game, or to inspire a dominating defensive performance when anticipating a comeback. When Renegade plays, it's a proven statistic within Heinz Field that the tides turn in our favor when this anthem is blasted to the Stiller faithful.

The #33 that is presented is more than likely tied to the founding year that our Chief, Art Rooney founded our Pittsburgh Steelers, which is the year 1933.

As for 78, I'm not so sure why that number would be printed.

Yes...where does one get that shirt???

I remember, back in 2008, against Dallas, late in the game, during the commercial break, they played "Renegade"...and then Deshea Townsend intercepts Romo & returns it for the (game-winning) touchdown.

As StainlessStill said, it's a proven scientific fact: playing "Renegade" equals defense winning the game for the Steelers. [I think that it's Newton's fifth law.]
