Prayers go out to DJ.

Can John Clay block? He layed a pretty good down the field block tonight.

6'1, 248 lbs.....could extend John's NFL career.

My heart goes out to DJ. He seems to have gotten stronger and looked real good on that pass play early.

However when he dropped a routine catch against Baltimore last year to kill clock and probably win the game for us and followed that up with a drop on an early drive in Denver that could have at least resulted in a field goal I have wanted him gone, but just not this way.

Wonder if they will get a FB now somewhere?

I hope they go find a FB and that David Johnson finds his true calling by next year. As a FB he was part of Arians's master plan to injure any running back to wear a Steelers uniform, and as a tight end he was almost as good as he was at FB. I am truly glad to hear that he worked so hard this year, I am, but he has done the opposing defense's job for them too many times for me to wish him anything other than finding his life's work. It's my opinion, and I was not able to watch last night. I don't wish bad for him, like being picked up by the Purple Crows in the offseason. I just want a real FB at FB.

that's too bad - always a long road to recovery. I wish him the best and hope he fights his way back to any roster.

brutal, hoping for a speed recovery,

as much as people complain about him, we forget he was a 7th round pick from arkansas state,

for that i tip my cap to still be on the team after all these years, 7th rounders dont exactly hang around that often

I'm sorry, but that is precisely why he was so valuable to Arians. He was horrible. He had a good camp. Great! But hasn't he been in the league too long to be practice squad eligible? He was about the 6th best guy at a roster position that was too deep at 4. I understand that he worked really hard. I love that, but not enough to want him to play for my team just for that. Limas Sweed worked hard too, and I wish he would have learned to catch a flipping football, but he didn't, so he had no position on the team, buh bye. Sorry, but DJ can't catch and he can't block. Yeah, he has at least stopped running away from the guy he was supposed to block, but it still leaves him without any NFL level skills. It's time for him to consider what he actually should be doing with himself. If he works as hard at that as he did at almost being an NFL caliber football player he will be fine.

I'm not heartless. I feel his pain all too well, only without the free college diploma. I'm almost 50 and don't have any clue what I am good at. I hope DJ figures it out much sooner. And as I said, if he puts the same effort into that he will be fine, in fact more than fine, he will do great.

I question his abilities all the time after watching some horrendous drops and missed blocks but IMHO he at least has the skills to be a backup in the NFL. Remember, there is the Steelers standard, and the rest of the league. He has the abilities to make the roster of at least a half a dozen teams. Cardinals, Jets, Browns, Seahawks, Rams, Jaguars could def. use his services, even if it is just as a backup.
