I think if Polamalu can come back for Philly, Heyward and Mclendon start for Hood and Hampton, and we rush the hell out of Woodley instead of repeatedly dropping him into coverage, we'll be fine without Harrison. Not great, maybe not even good, but fine.

Unfortunately, Polamalu playing is probably the only one of those things that will happen. Old habits die hard in Pittsburgh. We're going to ride Keis, Hampton, and the same schemes all year.

At some point, Tomlin needs to step in if it keeps failing.

Steelers notebook: LB Harrison doesn’t practice

Pro Bowl linebacker James Harrison still hasn’t practiced on consecutive days since undergoing knee surgery in mid-August, a sign his return isn’t imminent following the bye week.

Whenever he has exerted the knee, it fails to respond the following day.

It’s obvious the defense misses Harrison, who was optimistic Wednesday the knee might be improving after he went through a full practice the day before.
