We've had some good one's (Brown, Timmons, Pouncey) and some that will likely turn out well (Gilbert, Rainey, DD, Spence, Wallace), it just seems bad because they have all been mediocre at best on defense. Timmons is the best player Tomlin has drafted on defense, he's coming on strong now but he's been inconsistant, and it's a far drop off from him as it stands now. So he's added some talent on offense (still not completely proven) but totaly s*** the bed on defense. What makes it look even worse is that even though talent continues to be added to the offense, the offense continues to struggle. If we continue down the path we are on, the impact of the 2012 and 2013 draft classes will determine how long Tomlin is here IMO.

Very rarely does a draft class make an instant impact. Swann and Stallworth combined for 27 catches in 1974. Mike Webster started one game in 1974 and one game in 1975.

that's because it took them several years to learn Dick LeBeau's complex defensive schemes.

oh wait...

You can't predict injuries, Adams was drafted for depth. These drafts usually take a couple of years to determine success or failure. My bet this will be hailed as a very good draft for years to come.
Adams was drafted for depth? You don't buy new tires to replace your bald one and let them sit in the garage. The Steelers need right now Linemen

just like with this season, steelerfans went into full blown panic mode when adams had a bad practice or two and 2 sub par pre-season games.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves and already declare this year's draft a "bust." It's been only 5 games. Decastro hasn't played a meaningful snap, and we're hoping he will be back before the season is out. Adams, we will see this weekend because I'd imagine he'll be starting for Gilbert, correct? Spence was cut down before he got a chance. Ta'amu? Um........I was expecting some big plays out of Rainey after watching him in the preseason, he has yet to fulfill that promise. Looks a tad small perhaps. Let's not forget David Paulson, who has not made any glaring errors while on the field this season as a 7th-rounder and made a nice block to allow Mendy to get into the end zone against the Eagles.

Adams was a waste of a pick. With the soon departure of Ta'amu, we will certainly address NT with the first pick of next yrs draft.
