If Ben opted for the checkdown more often, the offense would be friggin amazing. I'm liking what I see - especially the sack count.

It would be a travesty to even mention Rivers name in any discussion of an elite or great, and maybe marginally good discussions. Gruden would be the only douchebag to do that as he has a crush on Phil and matty ice, some sicko 3some he has going.
Rivers sucks plain and simple. Ben is top 3 for sure in AFC, I would take him over anyone, and still top 5 in the NFL. To say he is better than Brady or Manning, Brees or Rogers etc it is all how you look at it. |

Ben and Rodgers are in a class of their own. Their ability to improvise when a play breaks down is insane, and yet they are so deadly accurate. They have played behind questionable O-Lines for years and they still succeeded. Finally Ben is working with an OC that brings out the best in him. Rodgers has never had to deal with someone as incompetent as Bruce Arians.
Manning and Brady come from Offenses that deliver them clean pockets to throw from. As many people have said, If Brady played in the Steelers Offense behind our O-Line for the past couple years, he'd be shot. Phyllis Rivers was never that good. Terribly Overrated QB who put up great fantasy numbers but sucked in the postseason. He just dumped off to LT and Sproles in San Diego, now that those two are gone, he's been exposed. It's even worse now that his arm is dead. |

I think if you're talking about NFL QB's, I'd break them out like this into 4 categories. This would be entire body of work, however long that may be.
ELITE- distinct group of 6 IMO 1.Brady 2.P.Manning 3.Brees 4.Ben 5. Rodgers 6. E. Manning Good 7. Ryan 8. Flacco 9. Rivers 10. Stafford 11. Schaub 12. Romo 13. Cutler Average or too soon to tell 14. RG3 15. Freeman 16. Dalton 17. A. Smith 18. Luck 19. Bradford 20. Newton 21. Ponder 22. Locker 23. Wilson 24. Wheeden 25. Tannehill Sucks 26. Palmer 27. Vick 28. Fitzpatrick 29. Sanchez 30. Kolb 31. Cassel 32. Gabbert |

I would put P. Manning over Ben right now. Did you watch the game last night? Insanity I tell ya'! My opinion is the Manning Eli is over rated. Have you seen him play this year? Compare that to his brother. I think Ben should be #3 on the "Right Now" list.
I think your first list is spot on. |

Every QB throws bad picks sometimes, one that lose games when thrown at the worst possible times. Ben has done a tremendous job taking care of the football this season. "Bonehead picks" to me does not even enter the conversation when recapping Ben's season thus far. I predicted a career year for him coming into this 2012 season, and he has not disappointed. He has never before been this consistently great, and it has been a true treat to watch him play football this season. He is our MVP, plain and simple, no doubt about it.
