Romney ahead of Obama in Pennsylvania by Four

The latest from the far left Wall Street Journal

President Barack Obama holds an edge over Mitt Romney in Florida and Ohio, the two largest battlegrounds in determining who will win the White House on Tuesday, new polls show. ...

The surveys found the two battling neck-and-neck in Florida, with Mr. Obama drawing 49% support among likely voters to Mr. Romney's 47%.

Mr. Obama held a firmer lead in Ohio—51% to 45%, unchanged from mid-October—where the relatively more buoyant economy and the federal bailout of the auto industry appear to have solidified his support among a wide swath of voters.

In both states, Mr. Obama got high marks from all sides for his management of recovery efforts after the storm Sandy hit the East Coast. That tracks an array of polls taken in the past week suggesting that Mr. Romney's rise may have flattened out just before Sandy landed, an event that sucked national attention away from the campaign trail. In the Florida and Ohio polls, even a majority of Republican voters approved of Mr. Obama's handling of the storm's aftermath.

Why Do White People Think Mitt Romney Should Be President?

Parsing the narrow, tribal appeal of the Republican nominee.

Mitt Romney's election strategy depends on the notion that the white vote is separate from the rest of the vote, and can be captured as such. Back in August, National Journal ran a report on campaign math headlined "Obama Needs 80% of Minority Vote to Win 2012 Presidential Election":
Romney’s camp is focused intently on capturing at least 61 percent of white voters. That would provide him a slim national majority—so long as whites constitute at least 74 percent of the vote, as they did last time, and Obama doesn’t improve on his 80 percent showing with minorities....
A recent ABC/Washington Post poll found Romney leading Obama 65-32 among white men and 53-44 among white women, giving him a 59 percent share of the white vote overall—"a new high," and closing in on that 60 percent target.

This has been the foundation of Republican presidential politics for more than four decades, since Richard Nixon courted and won the votes of Southerners who'd turned against the Democratic Party because of integration and civil rights. The Party of Lincoln became the party of Lincoln's assassins, leveraging white anger into a regional advantage and eventually a regional monopoly. It's all very basic and old news, but it's still considered rude to say so, even as Republican strategists talk about winning the white voters and only the white voters....

a Republican strategist acknowledged the campaign was hanging its hopes at a shrinking target: "This is the last time anyone will try do to this." This is a demographic proposition rather than a moral one: The GOP will end its get-out-the-white-vote strategy whenever it stops working.

According to Reverend Joseph Lowery, you know the guy who gave hopeys benediction, "all white people are going to hell".

'All white folks are going to hell': Explosive cry of civil rights icon Reverend Joseph Lowery at rally for Obama (who invited him to give benediction at President's inauguration)

He was also quoted as telling an audience at the St James Baptist Church in Forsyth, Georgia: ‘I don’t know what kind of a n***er wouldn’t vote with a black man running he also told according to the paper.

There are racists in both parties - but the idea only Democrats vote in accordance with their race and that the GOP has not been talking in code about pandering to white racism is bullshit

FWIW I am a blue eyed WASP

Maybe there will be riots if Romney wins.

Romney schedules election-day visit to Pittsburgh

His campaign announced to traveling reporters that the Republican nominee would campaign Tuesday in Ohio and Pittsburgh but no other details were immediately released.

He was supposed to end his campaigning tonight in New Hampshire before returning home to Boston to vote.

No panic whatsoever

Maybe Mike Tomlin and Dan Rooney are planning to endorse him
