Also, the Chargers were a much better team than the Colts, who almost beat the Steelers the next year in the AFCC Game. 11-5, 5th on offense, 9th on defense, and in a deeper division than Pittsburgh. The Steelers got to beat up on terrible Houston and Cincy teams four times that year.

I think that the game would ahve been a lot closer. PITT's strength was its secondary (Woodson, Lake, Perry).

More importantly, a loss in SuperBowl XXIX would have meant that maybe Jerry Jones would not have had to pay off a certain "un-named" QB, in order ot have that certain "un-named" QB throw two gimme INTs to Larry Brown. Then again, Jerra might just have been that desperate to see PITT lose twice in a row.

Norv Turner just threw Ryan Mathews under the bus, saying that Mathews lacks the vision needed to be an elite RB.

From last year to this year his compensation basically doubled and continues to rise next year and in 2014 by about another $1M per year. This contract was built for the Steelers to have an out after 2011. James is starting to get it going, but not to the $6.6M level in base salary at age 35.

Sounds like a recipe of disaster for the Steelers. This will not be an easy game for the Steelers. Even if the Steelers were healthy it would not be a easy game. Expect a low scoring, close game.
