Most painful one for me was the 2001 AFC championship game. Most painful loss against a very mediocre Patriots team.

I'm not trying to be mean or anything; I am genuinely guessing:

You're about 25 years old?

Because, while that AFCCG loss was painful (like a kick to the crotch), for us older folk, the 1994 AFCCG loss was PAINFUL (like sliding down a railing... made of hacksaws).

I'm 24, but grew up in a diehard clan of NUTS for the Steelers. I was at a bar with my dad, I was only 6 years old but remember the game. I remember my dad being on the verge of tears. The week before, my dad busted his leg trying to get Kevin Green's autograph for me in the parking lot and he slipped on ice.

My uncle, who went to the game, came home with literally handfuls of Terrible Towels. He said after that gutwrenching loss, there were thousands of Terrible Towels left behind and he just picked up as many as they could.

Probably the most painful loss in Steelers history.

I was 12 when we lost to the Chargers. I think my mind's blocked that game out. All I can remember is the play they kept showing over and over, the batted pass into the endzone. The most painful loss to me came the very next year. O'Donnell!!!!!!!

This is the kind of game we need to crush the other team. Get out to an early 2 score lead and let the losers on the otherside start pointing fingers at on another. Im glad this isnt a primetime game where the other team can play as if it is their only chance to shine, ala the KC game.

The 1994 loss was the most painful AFCCG loss.

SuperBowl XXX was the most painful loss in Steelers history.

XXX... argh!!! The Steelers HAD that game... and that "un-named" QB (who had been paid-off by Jerry Jones) threw two gimme INTs to Larry Brown (which set up easy points).

Niel O'Donnel, the only QB to ever be the opposing teams MVP in both a Championship game and a SB. I wonder how many SB's the Cowher era would have brought us if he had a real QB in any of the years before 2004.
