ben isn't tom brady or aaron rodgers, he's more of an elway type of qb, who didn't win anything until he had terrell davis

1. Secondary. You can pick between Safety and CB. I am looking future and not immediate.

Safety - Troy and Clark are 2 of the best in the league so right now we are fine. Allen seems a pretty capable backup and I think he is pretty young. So we may be okay with him. Mundy I have never liked and still don't like. He can hit but half the time he draws penalties doing it and his coverage sucks. So 1 or 2 safeties for the future.

CB - I am a little less worried here because we are young and we don't know how are players are developing. Lewis stepped up and with injuries some others are getting experience and may be fairly strong next year. Still, I think any and all depth here is good because this has almost always been our biggest weakness.

2. D line - 2 of our 3 are likely close to retirement. So getting young here is a definite need as well as more depth. We have some young guys but once are oldies are gone we need some people behind them. So this is definitely somewhere to start adding next year.

3. QB/LB - I put these both because I am a bit torn. I never worry about our linebackers because they are almost always some of the best in the NFL. Woodley and Timmons are both pretty good and still pretty young. Foote and Harrison have some age to them but we also have some people in development already.

QB is sort of similar. Ben should still have a few good years and maybe more. Still, both of his backups are old and it would be nice to have some youth we can develop and maybe even find a diamond in the rough.

I also want to comment on people talking about RB. No No No. That would be a complete waste to do that. Redman can (likely) carry the full load. Our coaches haven't given him the chance so that is on them. Behind him we have 2 young guys in Rainey and Batch. Rainey isn't a full load guy but Batch may be given the chance. Redman is almost 30 though, so age may become an issue with him.

Dwyer I am not sold on. He doesn't seem to want it as much as the others and there are always questions of him coming out of the game and being out of shape. I say keep the other 3 and get rid of Mendy and Dwyer. And MAYBE look late in the draft for someone who fell low for some reason or another that we can look past. Anything higher than that is an absolute waste.

dwyer sucks and redman is proving that he's not durable enough to be a feature back. mendenhall basically punched his ticket out of pittsburgh so we have a need there.

ive seen dwyer have monster holes opened for him early in the game but he totally didn't see it, he's not a good running back

1) Inside linebacker. Foote has been OK, but we can upgrade. I also think Timmons is playing out of position. Maybe he can eventually replace Harrison too, when he hangs it up. Neither Timmons nor Foote seems to be able to consistently make big plays.

2) Wide Receiver. A position that once seemed so deep, suddenly lacks playmakers. No one seems to be able to get open the last few games and these guys struggle against bump coverage. With Wallace leaving, I'm afraid we are going to need another big playmaker.

3) Safety. Ryan Clark is having a career year, but he isn't getting any younger. Troy's best days are clearly behind him. It's time to address this position, Golden and Allen don't cut it as backups. I think CB will be ok. Very deep there. When Ike and Lewis are both healthy, they are fine, as are their backups.
1) Timmons is the only LB that is really making an impact on Defense, let me rephrase the only PLAYER making an impact on defense.

2) Don't need younger ones just ones that can beat bump coverage. I don't think any rookie in college right now would fit that bill.

3) That's where I agree, but Ike isn't getting any younger either. CB is a position that needs to be addressed.

4) RB is a position of dire need, these Backs of ours can't get the job done.

I disagree at safety, we just need a more solid backup. Or we could use someone who's going to take time to develop in to a great player and can develop during Clark and Polamalu injuries and then when they retire this person can start and do their thing.

The real question is why didn't they get Heath more involved in the game in the second half. Who was the genius that didn't call plays for the tight end that pretty much carried you through the 1st. half.

We don't know this. He has had 1 injury in his career so far IIRC. He had the Giants game with 50-60 total plays and came out of that fine.

You may be right but we have no way to know.
