Week 16 Gameday Thread: Steelers vs Bengals 12/23/12

Our defense lets us down the first 5 games then shows up and our offense takes a nose dive. Let's not forget our offense basically shut the Bungles down without it's best cover corner. Ben basically throws 10 points into the Bungles hands.

I can't help but to wonder if Ben's level of play was somehow an expression of passive aggression against the OC he never asked for or wanted...maybe even subconsciously. Tomlin allowing that kick was idiotic. Punt it deep and make the Bengals go 60 yards.

At this point all we can hope is that Ben's throwing motion was still hurt from his rib injury and he'll be better next year. But even healthy this team needs offensive help.

Plus how can you NOT have two guys on Green on that last play?

The Bengals will be destroyed in the first round (as usual anyhow).

Why sorry? We're in agreement by and large. I am just saying that Roethlisberger has really screwed the pooch at the worst possible moments. Love the guy and haven't forgotten what he's done for us but he's made some very bad mistakes that cost us the last couple games. I mean it's a team effort ultimately. Receivers gotta catch balls, running backs gotta get those yards, etc.

You bet - that's what I've been saying for the longest time, but the Tomlin faithful keep drinking the Kool-Aid. He couldn't manage hs way out of a paper pag. The problem with Ben is his ego. He refuses to throw balls away. He refuses to run out of bounds. He reads how he is Superman and can get out of anything and make plays.

As for Tomlin, he shouldn't be coaching a high school team. This team looks like the Browns, not the Steelers. And who can really stick up for his decision making. They lost five games to teams they were favored over. Can you really say that has nothing to with the game preparation?

Uh 2009. It wasn't that long ago. This is probably the worst season since 2006 though.

Yes, this is mostly on Ben at the end - but he wouldn't have been in such a perilous situation to throw a pick had Tomlin not opted for a FG that *EVERYONE AND THEIR GRANDMOTHER* knew was going to fail.

I'm just at a loss for words.
