Really this kid can't even get it inside the 20 ever. He has been killing us all year. Where are Kapinos or sepulvada. Please tell me they are going to bring someone else in next year. It has been miserable to watch this kid punt. Yeah he has a decent hangtime but he has no controll over the ball. Thoughts?

Dude, the line is CONSTANTLY getting their asses HANDED to them when it comes to punt blocking. The last time Drew actually took the time to punt his best, the ball was blocked, if i'm not mistaken. His last SEVERAL punts have been the product of getting that sonofabitch off his fut in a HURRY and NOT having it blocked! He's a rookie, and he's constantly punting out of his own endzone with little time to worry about accuracy and power. Give him a break. Most punters can't punt 65 yards from their 10.

Largely agree, he is a better punter when he gets better blocking, dude aint houddini~

I thought Butler was poor this year. Kapinos seemed much better last year. If he returns healthy, I'd like to have him back.

That's a great point. As this is a team game, I don't want it to seem like I'm singling any one player out. Special teams have been a big problem for this team since at least Colclough was around. I remember even shutting my eyes when Randle El was back there.

I can't recall specifically how good the blocking for Butler's kicking was, so I can't argue with what you say. Just seems like he's had a lot of bad kicks even when he's had time.

Butler wasn't bad, he had some tough bounces that didn't go his way. He was only a rookie and I think he has the potential to become a solid punter.

Wasn't impressed with his touch and very inconsistent.
Overall, I thought Kapinos did a better job last year.

agreed 100%.

I laughed when i would see people try and blame Butler for our problems and/or field position.
Our field position was already lost when our offense continually couldn't move the ball. This guy punted inside our 10 (or even inside the endzone) more than i care to remember. It was ridiculous.
On the other side of the field, the punt blocking was atrocious - as was the coverage getting down the field.
There's a HUNDRED things i'm MUCH more concerned with on this lousy team than our punter - who actually isn't too bad.
