What are those rankings of? This was in the PG.

Smith has been with the Redskins since 2004 and once served as an assistant coach at William & Mary, Tomlin's alma mater. His coverage units have ranked at or near the top of the NFL the past three seasons.

The Redskins led the league in kick return average allowed in 2010 and 2011 and ranked seventh in 2012. They ranked third in punt return average in 2012.

Well hope that it was well worth the hiring. As he is one of the best ST coaches in the league!

this was an accumalation of special teams, punt returns, punt returns allowed, kick return, kick return allowed had some field goal stuff included also. im sure it could ber tilted one way or the other to fit someones agenda. i just took the average for that year and listed them. looks like a less than average special teams group he puts on the field over the coarse of his career with his much better years along ways away from 2013

Reading about Danny Smith's experience at the combines. This is what he said it's like interviewing players who might end up on special teams:

“‘I’ll do anything. I’ll do anything. I’ll do anything.’ That’s what they tell you at the Combine,” said Smith, “but when they get here and it’s a Wednesday morning during the season and they’ve had a couple of days off and been out at night. Now, will you do anything? Let’s find out.”

Hope they pick some winners, because Special Teams needs to be fixed.
