But you seem to forget that Arians was with a guy who went 1-2 in Superbowls and competing practically every year despite relatively poor play from the rest of the offense. |

Yes.
Here he is, lined up on the right hash mark: ![]() "Aww shit, I just get done with my dropback and I already have pressure coming from the left! I better step up to keep the play alive!" ![]() With a stopwatch, I timed 1.7 seconds between the snap of the ball and Roethlisberger having to step up to avoid Tamba Hali. No, he couldn't deliver it to Heath Miller at this moment because he either would have been hit as he threw the ball or had his pass tipped by Allen Bailey near the line of scrimmage. "Fuck, nobody's open and I only have two blockers for three defenders! I better just eat the ball!" ![]() Notice where Roethlisberger is as he's getting sacked: between the hashmarks. Roethlisberger never left the pocket on the play. No, he couldn't have delivered it to Miller earlier, because Miller was blanketed by Eric Berry the moment he started running across the field. You can see both their feet near the top-left corner of the image. |

Luck is much younger and has a much longer career ahead of him at this point than Ben has left...

sometimes that would be better to throw away and take the penalty. The play he got hurt on happened so fast though he probably would have gotten hit anyway.

Luck is nine years younger... and the way that BB plays, he'll only play to 35, whereas, Luck will play until 38. Doing some math, that would give the Steelers sixteen more years of greatness (as opposed to only five). |

To answer the OP...
If somehow he were actually traded, it would take three R1 picks to even make me consider it... and one of them would HAVE to be a top-ten pick. Even then, I would not necessarily do it. Why? If it was last year's draft, with several franchise QBs (Luck, Wilson)... maybe... but, I do not see any QB of that ilk for a few years. Aaron Murray... maybe... but, he is not Luck or BB. Nope. You only have a shot at a franchise QB once per every few decades... unless you are the Niners (Montana, Young) or the Colts (Manning, Luck). Thus, I gotta stick with BB. A "bird" in the hand is worth "three" in the bush. |

that's kind of harsh. You don't think we would have been to 3 SB's if I were the QB? Boy you're really going out on a limb with that assumption.
