President Obama’s golf weekend involved more than just a few lessons from the Harmons. On Sunday, the commander in chief teed it up with Tiger Woods for the first time, according to Golf World senior writer and Golf Channel insider Tim Rosaforte: http://www.golfchannel.com/news/golf...or-first-time/ |

'Fireball' lights up Florida sky
MIAMI - A fireball lit up the Florida sky Sunday evening. People from as far south as Key West and as far north as Jacksonville reported seeing the flash of light. Clear skies Sunday made it easy for people to see the fireball, which was essentially a very bright meteor. http://www.clickorlando.com/news/-Fi...m/-/index.html --------------------- Russian 'meteor' was actually a tiny asteroid, NASA says At a news conference Friday, NASA scientists said the object that exploded over Russia was a “tiny asteroid” that measured roughly 45 feet across, weighed about 10,000 tons and traveled about 40,000 mph. The object vaporized roughly 15 miles above the surface of the Earth, causing a shock wave that triggered the global network of listening devices that was established to detect nuclear test explosions. The force of the explosion measured between 300 and 500 kilotons, equivalent to a modern nuclear bomb, according to Bill Cooke, head of the Meteoroid Environment Office at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. Asteroids are tracked by telescope, as they are too far away to be detected by radar. Because of this, they are observable only when illuminated by the sun against a dark background. If they are small and dark-colored, they are far more difficult to observe. In the case of the Russian asteroid, it approached Earth with the sun behind it. http://www.latimes.com/news/science/...,5424522.story --------------------- Blinded by the light.......... |

seems pretty obvious we should have radar sites on other planets to warn us of our impending doom
what the fuck are these pointy headed "scientists" doing with all our tax dollars anyway? drop the minimum wage to $5.00 an hour to pay for it |

The Administration shares your desire for job creation and a strong national defense, but a Death Star isn't on the horizon. Here are a few reasons: •The construction of the Death Star has been estimated to cost more than $850,000,000,000,000,000. We're working hard to reduce the deficit, not expand it. •The Administration does not support blowing up planets. •Why would we spend countless taxpayer dollars on a Death Star with a fundamental flaw that can be exploited by a one-man starship? https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/res...-youre-looking Good luck expecting them to be far sighted enough to spend whatever it takes to build radar stations on Mars and Jupiter to provide advance warning of the invasion fleet
