players win games. picks get players. point is there are plenty of creative things the 9ers can do with all them picks.

patriots havent won a multitude of rings with their millions of picks, but their fans are always excited about draft day and they certainly arent bemoaning an 8-8 season.

49ers are in good shape.

If they make the picks. NE playing around and not using the pick for 5 years added nothing to the team

maybe its the pick they converted into aaron hernandez.

anyways, cant convince me having 15 picks in a draft or flipping a 7th until it turns into a 3rd is a bad thing.

great teams like the steelers build through the draft.

every team will miss and be wrong with plenty of their selections. its the nature of the beast. but the more picks you got, you increase your odds to be right.

if i were 49ers mgmt i'd certainly be looking to flip a few and put them in the bank. its a smart strategy for a team whose roster is stacked.

Niners seem like an ideal trading partner.

It would be great to work out a mutually beneficial deal.

49ers 2013 picks
1. First round: Own pick
2. Second round: Own pick
3. Second round; Chiefs
4. Third round: Own pick
5. Third round: From Carolina in trade-back during 2012 draft
6. Third round: Likely compensatory selection
7. Fourth round: Own pick
8. Fifth round: Own pick
9. Fifth round: From Indianapolis in trade-back during 2012 draft
10. Sixth round: Own pick
11. Sixth round: From Miami in trade-back during 2012 draft
12. Seventh round: Own pick
13. Seventh round: From Cincinnati for Taylor Mays
14. Seventh round: Likely compensatory selection
15. Seventh round: Likely compensatory selection

team needs (according to walt football
Team Needs:

Two Safeties
: Dashon Goldson is a free agent, while Donte Whitner surrendered more touchdowns than any other safety in 2012. If the Super Bowl proved anything, it's that the 49ers have to upgrade their secondary.

Wide Receiver: Mario Manningham, coming off ACL and PCL tears, could be cut this offseason. Randy Moss, whose lethargy finally cost the 49ers in the Super Bowl, won't be back. San Francisco has to find a secondary wideout for Colin Kaepernick.

Cornerback
: You have to wonder if the heavily penalized Chris Culliver will be back next year after insulting the San Francisco community in the week leading up to the Super Bowl. Joe Flacco mercilessly torched Culliver, who can be upgraded. Meanwhile, Carlos Rogers will be 32, so he won't be around much longer.

Rush Linebacker: Parys Haralson could be a cap casualty. The 49ers were already thin at rush linebacker, so they'll have to add depth behind Aldon Smith and Ahmad Brooks.

Nose Tackle: The 49ers proved last year that they don't really need a full-time nose tackle, but they could certainly use one to make their defense better.

Defensive End:
San Francisco has to find a successor for Justin Smith, a 34-year-old entering his contract season.

Center
: Jonathan Goodwin, who just turned 34, will be entering his contract year in 2013. He could be replaced this offseason.

Offensive Tackle
: There isn't much depth behind Joe Staley and Anthony Davis.

Tight End:
San Francisco will have to find a blocking tight end if Delanie Walker isn't retained.

Kicker:
David Akers missed more field goals than any other kicker in the NFL this past season.

it always seems that NE and SF have all the draft pick power. Very well played by 2 supremely smart front offices.
