remember most of the LB's we draft are converted defensive ends, so some of them end up just not making it. Zo for example comes to mind.

Overall, I'll put our history of drafting LB's up against anyone.

Not at all, these were mainly later draft picks, with the exception of Bell. Some will make it some won`t. Look at the lb we have drafted over the past 15 years, and you throw out some of these guys?
I'm not "throwing out some of these guys" just to make a point, or to start an arguement. They are, like I said, the last 5 drafted prior to Rian Wallace. Accorrding to Drafthistory.com here is the last 35 years worth of Steeler LB's: http://www.drafthistory.com/team-position/steelers.html

There are some great Linebackers on that list. There are some good Linebackers on that list. There are a fair number of busts on that list as well. My point then, as now, was that the original statement "Never second guess when the Steelers draft a linebacker" might be a bit over the top. At best, it appears to be a coin toss, just like any other position.

There appear to be 60-65 names on this list. How many of them would you classify as great, or good,...or not?

I don`t believe a fifth round or later pick that doesn`t make , is considered a bust! First or second rounder yes but not late rounders. Some are drafted just to fill a special teams need. Look at the starters at the time. There isn`t room for everyone to make it. Vrabel couldn`t make it here, Emmons left for stardom.

And its amazing how many players leave for big money and stardom and never pan out after being successful in our system.

How about an exercise just to pass the time while waiting on Training Camp to get here (It can't come soon enough). Same list,..your parameters,..the question still stands. Of the 23 remaining names, who would you consider "great", who would you consider "good", & who would you consider "not"?
