In the NFL, you have even higher expectations, and even shorter time frames in which to fufill them.

I think it's precisely because he's that coach he is willing to do this. I think Nick really believes he can help turn some lives around.

My thoughts exactly.

I think thats a nice sentiment.

I dont think that these guys will hurt Saban too much, unless he allows them to act out under his watch.

There are two type of upside though - the guys might be real contributors to the football team and if he can turn just one of them around then it enhances his reputation as a coach with strong discipline.

All this is dependant on him throwing these guys straight out of the team if they fail to show signs of improvement - otherwise he just looks like a guy who will do anything to win, and who doesnt mind compromising his moral standards to get there.

Just to let you all know... Ricky's second performance in the CFL was still unimpressive.... 11 carries for 46 yards against the team who finished dead last in the previous season.

Where as in the same week, the running back for my Roughriders had 5 carries for 106 yards against last years Grey Cup Champs .

Including 1 run for 65 yards.

Ricky played the 2nd Worst defense in the entire CFL as well.
