Really , Really gotta great feeling about this draft class....Extreme Homerism , perhaps. But even a few of the free agents, I have high hopes for.

To me, the only class that has stood out more in recent memory was last year's, but that wound up being a disaster. Not quite the fault of the front office, just shitty luck.

DeCastro needs to put on a show so we can say we scraped together what little we had of last year's draft class. Mike Adams still scares me.

Honestly, I think the last four drafts will put the Steelers right back in the mix.

2010: Maurkice Pouncey, Emmanuel Sanders, Antonio Brown
2011: Cameron Heyward, Marcus Gilbert, Cortez Allen
2012: David DeCastro, Mike Adams
2013: Jarvis Jones, LeVeon Bell, Markus Wheaton, Shamarko Thomas

Those are the players whom I can see being key contributors. And this doesn't even include Jason Worilds, Sean Spence, Alameda Ta'amu or Kelvin Beachum either. I think Jones will end up taking the starting ROLB job from Worilds, but I still believe that Worilds can be a contributor in a reserve role, and same with Beachum. I'm less sure about Spence and Ta'amu, though. At the very least, I hope the Steelers keep Spence for two more years so he can retire with a pension even if he never gets a chance to play. As for Ta'amu, he needs to get his shit together and keep it together.

It's a great read, but something must be wrong when the Steelers' 1999 draft gets rated poorly. Granted, Troy Edwards was a bust, but he put together a career before he was done. There were more than a few great players in that draft.

Hopefully we will see immediate impact from some of these guys. I have high hopes for this draft class as well. I wasn't completely on board with Jones, but I understand the pick and hope the kid is a star. To me, Bell is a homerun. I also think Wheaton will be a very good player, and Shark has a chance to be very good as well.

Nobody mentions the bottom of this draft class, but I suspect that one or two of these guys will become solid players over the next several years.
