I bet his passer rating is better than Landry's.

Giving a rookie QB considerable amounts of playing time was almost surely going to produce a hefty amount of rookie mistakes. He's not Ben. He will be a good backup with time, but I wasn't expecting anything this preseason in the second half, and I didn't get anything.

We looked good with the Starters in last game, and I think that trend will carry into the regular season.

Not true IMO.

These were real and legitimate regular season results after real and legitimate preseason games. It's data that can be analyzed and interpreted.

What's the basis for totally dismissing the results? Because it's preseason?

Not trying to be argumentative here but I don't buy the "no worries" approach.

.500 was the best record.

There's a pattern there for sure.

good points, but other than '87 and '06, none of the years are in the modern era, or even since the Steelers became an annual contender. And one of them's from '87.

Ben's 2004 Preseason stats:

25/43, 335 yds, 1 TD, 2 INT, 71.37 Rate

I recall the Colts losing all four preseason games in 2005 or 2006 under Manning, and winning 13 or 14 straight regular season games. Sure, there's never been a Super Bowl win after losing all four preseason games, but there's a first time for everything. Just like when we won every playoff game on the road on the way to the Super Bowl and won it all with a 2nd year QB throwing passes. Remember?

I thought he showed steady improvement throughout the preseason. Too bad it's ended with the second half of this game. I wish there was one more game so he could get right back in there, but maybe living with this finish will make him work harder over the next year.

It's an unfair comparison between him and Ben, really. Landry is working his way to that #2 spot on the depth chart. I believe a QB will drafted in a higher round to replace Ben when the time comes, and i'm confident Landry will improve over the next few years and capture that #2 spot. I only posted the numbers for reference.

Just calculated, that's a 53.09 Rate. Yikes.
