Default Steelers want to run the ball... or not?

Maybe looking too much into this, but the choices at running back make me think this team is going to be more pass-heavy than a power running team...

offseason signings:
Stephens-Howling - 3rd down back, most dangerous in the passing game
Felix Jones - More of a pass-catching RB / outside runner

drafted:
Le'Veon Bell -biggest pluses was his threat as a receiver from the backfield / pass blocking.

We cut Jonathan Dwyer, who's the closest thing to a pure power running back we have on our roster. Redman also runs with power, but he's more versatile, and in the past, has burnt defenses as a receiver.

Bottom line, is it appears to me that our running backs all seem to be suited more to play a finesse / passing game style (except redman but we have to keep our best players). I'm thinking this was the plan all along, and this whole talk about wanting to come out running the football was just smoke and mirrors?

add to the fact that Ben seems to be happier for some odd reason, whereas last year he had a bad attitude about the team wanting to run the ball more. something seems a miss here, oh those sneaky steelers

Have you actually watched this defense play? Or, are you just following the mantra of the media?

Because, this defense is going to be amazing.

Or maybe they kept Stephens-Howling and Jones over Dwyer, because he liked to Fumble?

I think that after the Cleveland game last year, Tomlin has a short leash for anyone who fumbles.

Dwyer might have made this team, but he fumbled during a game... and Tomlin's eyes told me that he was thinking, "You mutha effer!!!"

well, I'm not really sure what to think - no matter if it is one way or another, or balanced, the Steelers would most likely need at least the first quarter of the season before they gel - they just need to do it while they're winning

I hope you're right though and I hope we catch some people off guard, although I'd rather be doing it in the last quarter of the season

Besides Redman, do we have a guy we think could survive 20-30 carries against an NFL-caliber defense? And, Redman is questionable at that. Seems like all the bigger RBs are injury-prone.

I think you might be right that we're going to have a dink-and-dunk supplemented running game.

good point. 2 fumbles in the preseason is a good way to find yourself off any roster

my question is, how come every NFL team playing the Ravens keeps letting those little Ray Rice dump offs happening? It works at least 50% of the time for almost always a huge gain. What is frustrating is seeing our little dump off plays getting blown up all the time.
