No one expects 7th rounders to be anything but projects, and the ones that actually make the team serve yet ANOTHER testament to how good the scouting department is doing. I think Kelvin Beachum will be similar to Da Beard as far as that goes.
Beachum plays on the O-line, whereas Da Beard plays on defense. @Bayz101

Well, yeah, asshole.

They were both late round picks. We all know how good Brett turned out, and I believe Beachum has the chance to have a similar career.

One study I saw said that 30% of drafted players are starters for at least three years. I'm assuming that means they can be starters for any team in the NFL. By that metric, and my calculation on hits-and-misses since Tomlin's tenure, we're right at that 30% mark. I guess that makes us average, but with the competition involved in scouting these players, I'm betting the variation between teams in hit-and-miss percentages are slight and probably statistically negligible, so "average" is probably the best one can hope for, at least from a long-term perspective.

I can post the link to the study if that's acceptable here. I just know some forums don't like outside links, and I don't want to get banned or anything, so that's why it's not included at the moment.

The Rooneys like to put their drinking buddies into the scouting department. That's what qualifies them to recommend our draft prospects.

really? You bumped this thread for that? I think the rooneys should trade the NFL for a WNBA franchise that way some of the fans post and suggestions might actually make sense

Truth hurts...

Used search functions..

Watching the pats right now 7 undrafted guys contributioning this year? And I think they said 7 drafted guys contributing... almost doesn't seem right..we can't even get a left tackle to be productive..

Whether you wanna admit it or not talent is wayyyy down.. no way to deny it anymore unless you have super rosey colored glasses..

I'm all for being a supporter and homer but all it takes is a look at the record..

Haven't won a game since december.. smh
