Default Petition to Keep 2014 Draft Pick

Steeler Nation time to stand up against this excessive penalty. Why should the entire team, the owners, and the fans be penalized for a single person's mistake? Tomlin's actions were his first ever transgression, and they did NOT affect the outcome of the game. The Jets were not penalized for a similar situation in which a coach actually intentionally tripped a Dolphins player injuring him. Yet our coach is hit with a $100,000 fine and the team and fans are made to pay with the loss of a 2014 Draft Pick.

We should NOT stand for this. This penalty is excessive, and unnecessary after the $100,000 fine that was imposed on Coach Tomlin. Please sign the petition here and show the NFL that Steeler Nation shall be heard!

I'm sure Goodell is going to take note. Tomlin rocks.

I concur, but it's the principle of it. So sick of Goodell and his goons screwing this team. It's just mind boggling how you can have a situation with the Jets where a coach intentionally trips an opposing player causing him to get injured and all that coach gets is a suspension and fine. Yet here we are getting a draft pick taken away because Mike Tomlin almost got in Jacoby Jones' way.

They just make things up as they go. There's no standard, no precedent that they follow.

Losing a draft pick is not for on the field activities by dumb ass personnel. This is for adminstrative fines mainly occuring in the front office and dribbling down to off season activities. At least in my opinion. Given the fact the Rooneys have no balls, they will just accept it. But in the end it should be appealed. Also, Tomlin should've been suspended in lieu of that as that would've been the proper fine.

I do not see how they can justifiy fining the organization for this unless Rooney sent a text message to Tomlin saying "look you dumbass we know your STs suck, you better stop this run back".... Highly unlikely the old man could text that fast.

If anyone has any fellow Steelers fans on their facebook account as friends please share this with them. I've been trying to get the word around via my facebook as well. I've posted the link on every major player's page, and on various fan pages as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you again to those of you who have taken the time to sign the petition. My goal is to get this mentioned on NFL Network or ESPN. Nothing wrong with having a goal right?
