UPDATE: Fabulous news for Yuengling's fans! The iconic ice cream, which is making a big comeback this year, will actually hit store shelves about a month earlier than expected. As of now, the company expects pints to roll out in mid-Febuary instead of March, thanks to the public excitement that was generated when Yuengling's originally announced its sweet, sweet return. The Patriot News reports that retailers immediately began requesting the ice cream after the news broke in September, so David Yuengling decided to move up the launch date.

Were you a fan of Yuengling's Ice Cream? According to the Citizen's Voice, the frozen dessert company was created back in 1920 to help Pennsylvania's Yuengling brewery stay in business during The Prohibition. However, the beloved cream cream was taken off of shelves in 1985 when David Yuengling, the great-grandson of the ice cream company's founder, went into computer consulting. Now he plans to continue the family tradition by restarting Yuengling's Ice Cream. He is also changing the recipe so it only contains all natural ingredients. The 10 flavors will include: Vanilla, chocolate, chocolate chip, black and tan (chocolate and caramel), vanilla fudge chunk with pretzels, espresso chocolate chip, chocolate fudge brownie, chocolate marshmallow, root beer float, and mint chocolate chip. Quarts will be sold in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Virgina supermarkets.

When Sprecher Brewery in Milwaukee was first getting started, they made Root Beer to give to kids who were accompanying their parents on brewery tours. It became so popular that it now outsells their regular beer. I had their root beer multiple times before I even knew they made beer.
