I very much agree with this. It's kind of a tough time to have that player right now, with all the rule changes, but I think it's still a good quality in the NFL.

I still remember on ESPN or something, after we beat the Bengals in the Wild Card game in '05, one of the talking heads was disgusted after they ran the highlights and said the Steelers were just a bunch of bullies. We weren't just bullies that year though.

I think drafting a CB/ DL very early is a must with that said this 'sit rookies for the first year' Bullshi* has to go. The Steelers need to improve in a big way NOW not over the next couple of years,if you have to suggest LeBeaus' retirement to achieve this so be it.

do you remember who it was? As a Steeler I would think that would be a compliment

Who doesn't want to be the biggest, baddest bully on the block when it comes to football - I agree on all the safety stuff, but finesse should not completely eliminate the mean and nastiness in football both in play and demeanor

I was actually a little jealous that we don't have a Richard Sherman (aka Joey Porter type) who talks so much smack and backs it up too. I had no problem with his trash talking - I don't think anything Joey Porter said or did before, during, or after a game made people forget the contributions of the rest of the team - I think the hate for Sherman's trash talking is a little much and in no way took away from say a guy like Lynch's performance and contribution to the team victory

No way we make it to SB XL without Porter's bully attitude and walking the walk

that was a road warrior attitude - I remember Steeler Nation salivating when we got to play the Bengals again - I remember yelling at Cincy that they can keep the division title - I wonder if it had something to do with how everyone thought Kimo purposefully took out Palmer

I want to say it was Tom Jackson, the old Broncos player, but don't remember for sure.

That does NOT sound like Tom Jackson.

That sounds too whiney & butthurt.

Keyshawn? Sapp?

The thing was, one person said it, but everybody else on camera agreed. I think in particular they were upset about our defensive backs being really physical with their WR's.

Yep, we use to actually be really physical on the back end of plays. Anybody remember Polamalu covering Gates in 2005? He basically just pushed him around the whole game.

I do know that Jim Rome used to say that the two toughest teams were the Steelers & Ravens... by a mile. Hence, he coined the term "The Crowbar Bowl" when describing the Steelers-Ravens games. As he said, "They hit each other in the face, until one falls down... and I can't take my eyes off of it."

Colin Cowherd has talked about how the 2005 Steelers intimidated people when they walked out of the tunnel. (The last team that he recalls being that "scary.")

So, maybe all of the ESPN analysts agreed: that was one tough effing team.

With Sapp it is always sour grapes when it comes to the Steelers. He has never let the butthurt go over the paper champion/defense comments the Steelers made against them
