Depends on what you consider a "#2" Wr is. He's strictly a guy that plays in the slot, IMO. When I think of #2 receivers, I generally think of them as playing on the outside.

I believe Wheaton has come to terms, that is why he was in SoCal recently working out with Roethlisberger. My thought on that would be that Ben saw something and Wheaton is willing to take the extra steps to meet the mental terms, don't look now but the Steelers may be setting themselves up at WR for quite some time to come.

Okay, I bring this up every now and again, usually to a ton of negativity about him being a locker room cancer and all that, but seriously, what about Santonio Holmes?

The Jets are almost certainly going to cut him this offseason. He'll be dirt cheap. He's still only 29. I don't even need to go into his accomplishments and the chemistry he has with Ben.

Okay, so Holmes got in trouble a few times while he was here, with very poor timing given Ben's incident. He's been as quiet as a mouse since he went to New York, hasn't gotten in trouble once in a WAY, WAYY worse environment. And to be honest I never thought he was that big a distraction/egomaniac anyway; at least not as big of one as he was made out to be.

Seriously. The dude was money for us. He made the greatest catch in Super Bowl history and was an MVP. He fucked up and we shipped him off for nothing and he's eaten a serious piece of humble pie being an afterthought in the Jets' offense and catching passes from butt-fumble. We were so quick to forgive Plax, and Santonio did WAY more for us than he ever did, and is still a semi-young player who can contribute.

Sign Santonio. Try to sign Cotchery. Let Sanders walk. Throw Wheaton in the slot. Win #7.

Megatron had twelve TDs... (which is two more than Cotchery).

Holmes has never been known for his leadership skills, and with a young, developing WR group, that has to be a concern. Unfortunately, #86 isn't around to fill that leadership void anymore.
