I'd certainly consider a 3rd round draft pick who wouldn't listen to his coaches, didn't work hard, rested on his laurels, showboated, ran his mouth without doing anything in the league, and retired at age 28 after being unable to prove himself as arrogant or cocky.

To each his own.

Smith, 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, is a former third-round pick who has outstanding athletic ability, but there are questions about whether he can be a starter...

..."He's got a lot of talent, no doubt about that," an AFC North assistant coach said. "He's just got to get the mental side together. That's the thing that will make him a real good safety. He hasn't shown he can do that yet. But if he goes there (Green Bay), they have (safeties coach) Darren Perry. He knows Darren. That would help him a lot."

He may very well have been arrogant, but IMO, Smith's bigger problem was that he was a dumbass.

He didn't call out anyone specifically on the team-- he simply stated the obvious.

One down season is acceptable when you keep your mouth shut and look to improve your game. When you call out your qb and other players on the team you lose your opportunity for sympathy. If you are part of a 'team' you go about your business to help your team. Saying anything that is negative is not helping your team. He might be accurate in his thoughts but you don't go outside of the locker room sharing them. You are either with us or against us. He turned and now we can all say ...deuces Ryan..

Sanders (if you mean Deion) isn't really that bad. Shannon Sharpe, Michael Irvin and Warren Sapp prove that the dumbing down of America is in full effect.
